Romy Announces Two Intimate Australian Shows

Acclaimed UK singer, songwriter and DJ Romy (of The xx fame) has announced two special, intimate shows in Australia in January 2024.

Her headline slots in Sydney and Melbourne accompany her appearance at Beyond The Valley and Wildlands Festival and arrive in support of her debut album, Mid Air, released last month.

Devoted fans can catch Romy perform at Mary’s Underground in Sydney on Wednesday, 3 January, followed by Max Watt’s in Melbourne on Thursday, 4 January.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale on Tuesday, 17 October, at 10 am local time, followed by a general on-sale on Wednesday, 18 October, at 10 am local time. You can sign up for pre-sale and purchase tickets via the Untitled Group website.

“The feeling of community in clubs has provided an escape from the realities of the world,” Romy said about her favourite music – melancholy yet euphoric dance music. “I may not be the life and soul of any party, but being in the atmosphere of a club, observing and connecting–that makes me feel less alone and more alive.”

Prior to the release of her debut album, Romy was penning tracks for The xx, the Grammy-winning single Electricity by Dua Lipa, Mark Ronson and Silk City, as well as songs for King Princess and Halsey. On Mid Air, Romy teamed up with her former bandmate, Jamie xx, producer Stuart Price (Kylie Minogue, Madonna) and Fred again.

Romy will perform at Beyond The Valley on 30 December alongside Central Cee, FERG, DMA’S, Ewan McVicar, Channel Tres, and many more.

Beyond The Valley shares acts with Wildlands Festival, which has locked in RÜFÜS DU SOL, Grime superstar Central Cee, club and fashion icon Peggy Gou, rapper A$AP FERG, along with The Jungle Giants and G Flip.

Wildlands will also include performances by Sub Focus, bringing his live show CIRCULAR SOUND to the Wildlands stage, as well as Destroy Lonely, LUUDE, Jayda G, COBRAH and more.

Electronic music enthusiasts can catch sets on The Wilds stage from Ewan Mcvicar, Taylah Elaine, Conducta b2b Notion, dameeeela and STÜM.
