Rob Zombie Shares Trailer For 'The Munsters'

The first official trailer for Rob Zombie's cinematic take on 'The Munsters' has arrived.

More Rob Zombie Rob Zombie Profile

Rob Zombie has shared the first official trailer for his cinematic reimagining of the much-loved ‘60s sitcom The Munsters.

Zombie’s take on The Munsters appears to pay respect to the family-friendly vibe of the source material, with the trailer looking a lot spookier than the content actually is.

The Munsters synopsis promises “The Strangest Love Story Ever Told” and the trailer provides the first glimpse at the horror-comedy romance of Lily (Sheri Moon) and Herman Munster (Jeff Daniel Phillips). As well as our first up-close look at Zombie's vision of their 1313 Mockingbird Lane home.

Due for release in September, the highly anticipated film sees Zombie take a step away from the gore of his past films House of 1000 Corpses, Halloween and The Devil’s Rejects

Dan Roebuck (The Fugitive, Final Destination) also features in the trailer as Grandpa, bringing some big-budget film experience to what is a deliberately and delightfully campy production. The film has secured a PG rating.

The Munsters cast also features Cassandra Peterson (Elvira, Mistress of the Dark) as real estate agent Barbara Carr and Jorge Garcia (Lost) as Floop. It will also see original Munsters cast members Butch Patrick and Pat Priest.

The Munsters wrapped up filming in Budapest last month. Zombie took to Instagram to celebrate the wrap-up, posing with Roebuck in his full Grandpa get-up.

The Munsters is expected to premiere on NBC streaming platform Peacock in September. It is tipped to secure a small theatrical run. There is no information known yet about the intended Australian release. The original TV show ran for two seasons, debuting in 1964.

Rob Zombie's last release on the musical front is 2021's The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy.  Last month he shared a wild animated video for the song Shake Your Ass-Smoke Your Grass.
