Rex Orange County Charged With Six Counts Of Sexual Assault

Rex aka Alexander O'Connor appeared in court on the 10th of October pleading not guilty to all six charges. He was released on unconditional bail.

Rex Orange County has been charged with sex counts of sexually assaulting a woman.

Rex aka Alexander O'Connor appeared in court on the 10th of October pleading not guilty to all six charges. He was released on unconditional bail. 

A representative for the musician said in a statement, “Alex is shocked by the allegations, which he denies, and looks forward to clearing his name in court,

“He is unable to make any further comment because of the ongoing proceedings.”

The trial is set to take place on the 3rd of January 2023. 

The assault allegedly took place on the 1st of June where the 24 year old allegedly assaulted the woman twice in London and then four times the following day. They took place once in a taxi and on three instances at his home. The woman is over the age of 16.

In July of this year Rex Orange County shockingly cancelled his Australian tour stating, "It is with a great deal of sadness to announce that due to unforeseen personal circumstances, I am having to spend some time at home this year and I will not be able to continue with touring as planned.

"This is the last thing I want to do. I love touring and I am so sorry to be letting anyone down. I look forward to getting back to it as soon as I can."

Rex was set to perform two shows at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion on the 8th and 9th of September, followed by Adelaide Entertainment Centre Theatre on the 12th of September, before closing the tour at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne for a pair of shows on the 14th and 15th of September.
