Popular rock and metal magazine 'Revolver' is currently paying tribute to late Avenged Sevenfold drummer – James ‘The Rev’ Sullivan.

To coincide with the music magazine’s tribute to Sullivan in their most recent issue, the publication is also running remembrance messages on their website. “Like you, we here at Revolver are still mourning the loss of Avenged Sevenfold drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. That’s why we included a poster of him and an obituary in the March/April issue. Many of the Rev’s peers wanted to weigh in, too. So over the coming days, we’ll post remembrances by the Rev’s friends, people he looked up to and artists who looked up to him,” the magazine posted on their site.

Shadows Fall front man Brian Fair and drummer Jason Bittner shared their thoughts recently: “The Rev was a truly one of a kind. No one threw it down quite like he did. He will be missed terribly. May he rest in peace,” Fair says. Bittner adds, “He was a good kid, a great drummer, and a fuckin’ funny dude.”

In addition, Saosin front man Cove Reber and bassist Chris Sorenson contributed their messages: “Jimmy was almost as good of a drummer as he was a singer. Most people don’t realize (sic) how many of the high notes were actually coming from his pipes behind that drum kit. Avenged Sevenfold are truly unique, and, in our eyes, Jimmy will always be one the best drummers we’ve ever toured with.”

Avenged Sevenfold is currently recording their new album with Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy filling in behind the kit.
