Miley CyrusThe world’s most prestigious and glamorous fashion event, The Met Gala, returns next week (Monday, 4 May) for another star-studded edition of fashion and fundraising.
The annual event, formally named the Costume Institute Benefit, is held for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute on the Museum Mile of Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. Every year, it makes headlines for its themes – this year’s is Costume Art – and for the many celebrities showing off their fits on the red carpet.
From Formula 1 icons like Lewis Hamilton to artists such as Billie Eilish and Rihanna showing off incredible designs, the Met Gala is where everyone wants to be seen and where the world’s eyes are fixed.
While the full guest list hasn’t been published, there’s a fair bit that we do know. Beyoncé is one of the co-chairs this year, while the host committee also includes Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, BLACKPINK’s LISA, and Sam Smith.
Fashionistas can expect additional appearances by tennis legend Venus Williams, Australian actress Nicole Kidman, Girls creator Lena Dunham, The Crown’s Elizabeth Debicki, Game of Thrones’ Gwendoline Christie, Bad Bunny, and others, RUSSH Magazine reports.

Women’s Wear Daily notes that some couples are expected to make their red carpet debuts on Monday, such as Harry Styles and Zoë Kravitz – who are reportedly engaged – as well as Kendall Jenner and Jacob Elordi, Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton, and Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun.
Ahead of the 2026 Met Gala, which Australians can observe next Tuesday (5 May), The Music has rounded up what your favourite artists wore to last year’s event to get you hyped up for this year’s Costume Art-driven costumes.
