You can check out his work at SALA in August

With the 2016 South Australian Living Artists Festival kicking off this evening, it was announced that renowned local talent Christopher Orchard will be next year’s featured artist.

The opening ceremony at the Art Gallery of South Australia launched the festival’s most impressive program to date, with more than 4600 artists in 630 free exhibitions across the state throughout August, showcasing paintings, sculptures, jewellery, video, multimedia and more.

Orchard will be commemorated at the 2017 event through a monograph penned by Peter Goldsworthy and will have his work showcased throughout the program, celebrating the career of the former head of drawing at Adelaide Central School of Art, which includes founding Central Studios Adelaide in 1982 and hosting more than 60 solo and group exhibitions throughout the world.

With two exhibitions at SALA 2016, you can see what all the hype is about at Studio Bowden on Aug 13 when his In My View gallery is on show, and again from Aug 14 – Sept 17 at Adelaide Central School of Art with Anything At All.
