Angélil battled three forms of cancer.
René Angélil, the husband and long-term manager of Canadian singer Celine Dion has sadly passed away today at 73 years of age.
According to People, a rep for Angélil confirmed the news, while the Clark County Office announced that he died from a long battle with throat cancer.
"Rene Angelil, 73, passed away this morning at his home in Las Vegas after a long and courageous battle against cancer," the rep confirmed in a statement.
"The family requests that their privacy be respected at the moment."

The coroner's office has also confirmed that Angélil died from natural causes and no further investigation into his death is expected.
It has been reported that Angélil fought three forms of cancer and underwent surgery in 2013 for throat cancer after previously been diagnosed in 1999.
Angélil first discovered Dion in 1980 when she was 12 and shortly after signing her, he mortgaged his house to fund her debut album, La Voix Du Bon Dieu.
In 1994 he married Dion and together they shared three children.
