Aussie record label Remote Control has today announced the launch of new publishing division Remote Control Music; a joint venture with independent publisher Beggars Music.
The partnership will see Remote represent the Beggars Music catalogue in Australia and New Zealand which includes Hottest 100 winners Glass Animals, as well as acts like Car Seat Headrest and Belle & Sebastian.
The first two acts to feature on the Remote Control Music roster includes Melbourne indie pop artist Gena Rose Bruce and Melbourne-founded-Brooklyn-based duo Luluc.
"We are excited to expand Remote Control in to the publishing space," Remote co-founders, Steve Cross and Harvey Saward, said.
"We have worked with the Beggars Group for 20 years, representing their catalogue of recorded music in Australia and New Zealand. It makes perfect sense to expand on that successful partnership and work with the publishing company.
"In many ways this is a new venture but having worked together for nearly two decades we have longstanding relationships and a shared ethos.
"With the experience and global reach of Beggars Music and our knowledge of the Australian market/music scene we bring something fresh and dynamic to the local industry."
Jill Stewart will work as Head of Creative & Licensing for Australian operations, having represented both local and international catalogues over the past six years as the Licensing Manager at Remote Control.
