The festival celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2012.
North Queensland's Reggaetown, one of the country's premier festivals showcasing the finest in reggae music from at home and abroad, turns ten in 2012 and organisers have revealed a massive first instalment of the line up today, featuring some mighty big names.
Aussie favourites Blue King Brown lead the first announcement, the eight piece stepping out of the studio to headline the event with their high energy live show. New Zealand's Katchafire continue their seemingly never ending tour with a slot at the festival, while Jamaica's Gramps Morgan and Papua New Guinea's Rize Of The Morning Star complete the international part of the announcement.
There's plenty of quality in the local acts announced today as well, with the likes of Bobby Alu, Zennith, J Mo & The 3 Beans 5, Sista Itations, Tuff Tumas and Kanaka all earning themselves a slot at the renowned event this year.
As it was in the beginning, the festival is being held at the Kuranda Ampitheatre, about 30km outside of Cairns, a gorgeous venue set amidst a stunning rainforest. Tickets are available now for $65 + bf.
