"It’s time for us to give back."
Despite taking a huge hit due to COVID, the music industry’s compassion hasn’t faltered.
One of the country’s biggest security companies in events, looking after the likes of Yours & Owls, Festival Of The Sun, Lost Paradise, The Drop and stacks more, Reddawn has announced a massive $10,720 towards Tonga relief.
Reddawn has enlisted the help of other major security companies, resulting in 16 pallets of water, equating to 29,376 x 600ml bottles of water, being donated.
The Tonga volcanic eruption and tsunami that took place on January 15 resulted in three deaths and hundreds of homes destroyed.
It has now been declared an emergency crisis demanding immediate water relief.
“Koniseti [Liutai, Deputy President of the Tonga-Australian Chamber of Commerce] and the Tongan community have been part of the core fabric of the Security and Events industry over many years,” Reddawn Australia CEO Simon Auston said.

“They have always been there to assist, not just Reddawn, but the entire industry. Both in our operations and on a personal level, and now it’s time for us to give back to them.
“We are extremely proud of all the security providers and event companies coming together over these times, despite a tough past two years for the sector, we are glad we can join together with a strong resilience and community spirit for this cause. We are proud to assist our pacific island brothers and sisters – Malu.”
Liutai added: “We have had an overwhelming amount of community support. What we would encourage now is donations towards our next shipping container costs. Having already secured five shipping containers worth of goods, we still have one more container to go.”
Reddawn’s new warehouse is being used by the Tonga-Australian Chamber of Commerce for the next month to organise its Save Tonga relief fund.
