Red Hot Chili Peppers new album is set for a release later this year, likely to be August.
Frontman Anthony Kiedis stated that the band had not yet decided on a title for the album but were currently using an amusing working title for now: ‘Dr Johnny Skinz’s Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machine-Head’.
This is the band’s first album since the double-disc ‘Stadium Arcadium’ was released in 2006. The new album will also be the first for new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, who replaced John Frusciante in 2009.
Asked about the draft title for the new album, Kiedis explained how it was inspired by a friend’s drug experience: “He was reminiscing about one of his legendary acid trips and told us he had been playing a sold-out show to the planets and moons and his number one hit was, well that title.”
