Having recently signed to New Justice Records, Sydney metal band – RECOIL, whose name derives from its synonym ‘kick’, best describing their music – will unleash their highly anticipated debut album on Friday, June 5.
The album, titled “The Will To Sin” captures the band’s signature raw heavy metal style that has snared the band attention from fans and critics alike over the past seven years. The album’s title, vocalist Wade says, resonates from a “want to do the things that are most of the time considered bad because they feel good and not giving a fuck about what anyone thinks.”
“The Will To Sin”, which has taken the most part of the last twelve months to complete, is an achievement that the band says they’re “very proud of”. “There are a lot of new fresh ideas thrown into our writing for this,” says Wade. “We’re now ready to hit the road to promote all our hard work”.
And hit the road they will. The live shows are the lifeblood of this heavy metal force which will be evident when they tour Australia’s east coast for a 7-date national tour taking in the sights of NSW, VIC, ACT, QLD and SA this May to July. “[Fans] can expect a loud in your face but very tight performance with plenty of energy,” says Wade of the band’s live show.
For a band formed seven years ago and the line up exactly as it was born, the band have continued to maintain their original roots. “We haven’t changed styles or been caught up with trends throughout our seven years. We have just progressed and stuck to our guns, playing straight forward metal”.
With sights set high and an overwhelming desire to play as hard as possible, RECOIL have shared stages with many diverse acts – international and local – including Static-X, Kottonmouth Kings (tour), Sen Dog, On Broken Wings, Daysend and Carpathian.
