The musician line-up for this year’s Reclink Community Cup is here, with Floodlights, Ross Wilson and more set to play for charity next month.

On Sunday, 16 June, at Victoria Park in Melbourne, Floodlights, Kaitt, Ross Wilson, Teether & Kuya Neil, The UV Race, and Whistle & Trick will perform at the Reclink Community Cup.

Whistle & Trick’s Maddy Kelly, Paul Kelly's daughter, will also participate in the charity match. Kelly will play in the Rockdogs team – aka the musicians – against the Triple R/PBS Megahertz team.

As Dave Houchin, the Triple R Station Manager, puts it, “For the uninitiated, the Community Cup is a now iconic fundraising Aussie Rules football match featuring some of your favourite local community radio presenters playing for the Triple R/PBS Megahertz against local musicians known as the Rockdogs.”

The match – with local acts per city – goes down in Brisbane, Hobart, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Canberra and contributes to the nonprofit organisation that is Reclink, which provides sport and recreation programs for communities facing disadvantage across the country.

In an exclusive quote for The Music, The Maggie PillsDelfi Sorondo said about playing for the Rockdogs, “It’s one of the best things that happened to me since I came to Australia five years ago. Having this in my life makes it all better: a place where I make supportive friends, have fun, and get fit while pushing together for a bigger purpose!”

Mark, a photographer and live music enthusiast, added, “The community cup represents the two biggest loves in my life: music and community.” Brisbane muso Brian El Dorado commented, “The Community Cup is a super fun event. It has been a great way to meet like-minded musicians who care about the welfare of others and to do something active to help raise money for charity.”

Kerrie Loveless, who you might recognise from The Rebelles and the Talking Heads Experience Australia, said, “I have loved the cup for as long as I can remember, and to play in it is better than I could have hoped. I have found myself in a wonderful community – full of kindness, laughter, and music – who are working together to do something good.”

Lauren Gatt, the General Manager of Commercial Fundraising at Reclink Australia, said about this year’s event, “We are thrilled to present such an incredible line-up of local talent for this year's Melbourne Reclink Community Cup.

“Music has always been an integral part of this event, and we are proud to showcase a diverse range of artists who will be entertaining our crowds while supporting a worthy cause.”

The Brisbane edition of the Reclink Community Cup will be held on 28 July, Hobart on 25 August, Adelaide on 22 September, and Perth on 6 October—the dates for Sydney and Canberra are to be announced.
