Rapper Lifts 'Curse' Off Kevin Durant Following NBA Team Switch

We're sure Durant is chuffed.

Those who know their NBA might be familiar with US rapper Lil B who “cursed” league favourite Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma Thunder for dissing him back in 2011 – well, with news that Durant is moving to new team Golden State Warriors next season, the hip hop artist has declared the curse is lifted and how convenient that the Warriors just so happens to be the team Lil B roots for.

Lil B put the "Based God" curse on Durant after the athlete took a swipe at him on Twitter and though we can all agree the concept is actually ridiculous, the fact that Durant never won a championship with the Thunder, even after he won an MVP award for the 2013-2014 season and Oklahoma made the finals every year since, was enough for Lil B to gloat, because why not, right?

Taking to Twitter earlier today the 26-year-old said, “’The BasedGod’ wants to speak, As life unravels and superstars make decisions that change lifes, welcome home KD the curse is lifted” – which is somewhat kind, given that, you know, he wrote a diss track in 2014 called Fuck KD.

While Durant might be happy to hear the supposed curse is gone, we can’t help but think his reported two-year deal worth $US54.3 million is probably all the happiness he needs.
