Ok, The Rage Tour Poster Is Fake - But Why Haven't Splendour & Glastonbury Denied It?

Ok, ok... so we all got excited about the idea that Rage Against The Machine are coming to Australia and headlining Splendour In The Grass 2020, but it looks like it was a classic case of troll-gets-our-hopes-up-for-a-fun-lol-but-not-really-jerk.

Shortly after the "leaked" tour poster did the rounds on Monday, Wall Of Sound revealed that it wasn't legit and it was lights out (guerilla radio) for that idea. BUT, here's the thing: it's been over 48 hours since that poster leaked... why haven't the festivals involved also shut the rumours down?

When contacted by The Music, Splendour declined to comment. And as for Glastonbury, they've confirmed Paul McCartney is headlining, but they haven't said a word regarding the rage about Rage.

We know the rock legends will make their triumphant return at Coachella next year, so it's likely that more festival slots are in store. Splendour and Glastonbury both theoretically make sense and obviously both take place after the confirmed Coachella date.

On a new episode of the Matter Of Faction podcast, Wall Of Sound's Paul "Browny" Brown and Tim "Pricey" Price confirmed the supposed troll came forward and admitted the poster was a fake and actually sent it out twice after spelling 'Auckland' wrong the first time.

"Everyone around the world wants [a Rage tour]," Browny said.

"If you were in Rage and you saw the amount of attention that this was getting, surely you'd have to go, 'Alright, there's a want and need for this.'"

Is it wishful thinking? Did the troll just reveal a very big secret without realising it? Come with it now.
