Final Radio Ratings For 2019: How Did Marigliano, Tilley & Fricker Wrap Up At Triple J?

The ratings are in.

2019 is wrapping up and so is another huge year for radio. 

Triple J has seen a major shuffle in its presenting line-up (including the departure of breakfast hosts Ben & Liam, morning's host Linda Marigliano, lunch's Gen Fricker and Hack's Tom Tilley) while 2DayFM axed its breakfast program with Grant Denyer, Ed Kavalee and Ash London entirely and Dylan Lewis leaves his Adelaide breakfast show.

The year wraps up with a push to increase the amount of local content on Australian services.

Sydney

KIIS FM's Kyle & Jackie O hold onto their spot as Sydney's #1 FM breakfast team for another ratings period, seeing a 0.2% increase to give them an 11.4% market share. WSFM's Jonesy & Amanda remain at #2 in the breakfast ratings with 8.5%, up 0.5% on last period. Both Nova and Triple M see substantial loss for their breakfast shows, marking 6.7% (down 0.6%) and 5.3% (down 1.6%) respectively.

Triple J's breakfast show has sees a growth of 0.1% for a 5.6% market share following the departure of host Ben & Liam, with the station only seeing losses in its morning and evening programs. 

Melbourne

Triple J sees impressive growth across all programs in November, with breakfast up 0.8% (4.7% market share), mornings up 1.4% (4.7% market share), afternoons up 1.9% (6% market share), drive up 1.1% (5.3% market share) and evenings up 1.1% (5.3% market share). 

Gold FM's Christian O’Connell breakfast show loses its #1 spot from period to Nova's Chrissy, Sam & Browny. O'Connell drew in 7.8% market share (down 1.3%) while Nova's show brought in 8.2% for a 0.1% growth. Triple M sees a growth of 1.5% growth to land at 7% market share.

Brisbane

Brisbane offers a huge increase in market share for triple j with breakfast seeing a whopping 2.4% growth to make up 9.5% market share, while mornings claim 10.9% (up 2%), afternoons hit 11.1% (up 2.5%), drive scores 9.6% (up 0.9%) and evenings claim 8% (up 1.8%). 

97.3FM is up 1.7% in the breakfast ratings for 11.2% market share, while Triple M and Hit105 tie for second place at 11% market share apiece. Nova's show with Ash, Kip, Luttsy & Susie drops 1% for 10.1% market share.

Perth

Triple J sees growth in all programs apart from evenings which sees a 0.6% loss for 6% market share. Breakfast is at 9% (up 1.9%), mornings at 9.1% (up a huge 3.5%), afternoons at 9.6% (up 2.9%) and drive at 9.5% (up 0.6%).

Nova's breakfast with Nathan, Nat & Shaun remains Perth's most popular breakfast program at 14.1%, despite losing 0.3%. Mix FM holds the #2 spot with 12.6% and a growth of 1.4% from last ratings period. 96FM comes in third with 10.6% market share following a 1.1% growth.

Adelaide 

Mix FM's Jodie & Soda remain #1 in the Adelaide breakfast market, seeing a 0.7% increase for a total 12.1% market share. Despite a 0.8% loss, Nova's breakfast program remains at #2 with 10.1%. Triple M suffers a 1.3% loss for 8.7% market share.

Triple J is up 0.5% for breakfast (total 6.3%) while mornings and afternoons are also up 0.5% and 1.3% respectively. Drive suffers a 0.5% loss for a 6.9% total and evenings increase 0.1% for 3.5% market share.
