The festival was recently in danger of being postponed after "unexpected developments" with the local council.

Last week, it looked like bad news was coming for Rabbits Eat Lettuce punters, with the festival stating that it was in danger of being postponed this year.
Festival organisers said the 2025 event could possibly be postponed following “unexpected developments” with the Southern Downs Regional Council.
Yesterday, the festival said that while the council allegedly refused to process the event’s Temporary Event Permit for the site of Cherrabah Resort, the Rabbits Eat Lettuce team wasn’t going to give up easily, securing a new venue and Council Event Permit.
“Rabbits Eat Lettuce 2025 is HAPPENING, but in a brand-new location,” a new statement from the festival reads on social media.
“Southern Downs Regional Council (SDRC) refused to process our Temporary Event Permit for Cherrabah Resort. But we weren’t about to let the magic disappear & as you know, REL is a resilient bunny. We’ve pulled a rabbit out of the hat once again, securing a new venue and Council Event Permit!”
The statement continued, “We’re beyond excited to announce that REL 2025 will now take place at Crystal Springs, a stunning 3,500-acre bushland paradise in Stonelands, QLD, located north /west of Brisbane in the South Burnett Region!

“Our creative juices have been overflowing as we’ve explored our mouth-watering new home, and we are 100% confident of delivering the most magical REL experience on record.”
Rabbits Eat Lettuce will still take place on the same dates across the Easter Long Weekend – 17-21 April 2025. It keeps the same line-up of beloved electronic artists, featuring headliners Luude, Astrix, and Nora En Pure.
Festival organisers added that Rabbits Eat Lettuce requires support from its punters “now, more than ever.”
“The Australian festival scene is facing major challenges, rising costs, regulatory hurdles, and local government roadblocks have forced many festivals to shut down,” the statement reads. “We REFUSE to let that happen to REL. But we can’t do this without you.”
You can support Rabbits Eat Lettuce and other festivals by securing tickets early, inviting friends, and coming together for a unique festival experience.
“Thank you for standing with us through this wild adventure. We can’t wait to reunite with you on the dancefloor at Crystal Springs this Easter for the 16th edition of Rabbits Eat Lettuce!”
Tickets were removed from sale last week due to uncertainty about securing a festival venue. They are now on sale; less than 25% of the fourth-tier tickets remain.
You can find tickets on the Rabbits Eat Lettuce website.
