Quentin Tarantino To Head To Australia For Premiere Of 'The Hateful Eight'

Don't panic. OK, panic.

Film lovers across Australia officially have permission to completely freak out with today's news that Academy Award winning director Quentin Tarantino is heading to the country this January for the premiere of his new film, The Hateful Eight.

The acclaimed filmmaker will head to our shores to attend the premiere in Sydney, followed by a fan event in Melbourne — more details are expected to be announced shortly.

The film will debut in the country with a limited 70mm screening on 14 January, followed by its wide release a week later on 21 January.

The Hateful Eight takes place in post Civil War Wyoming, where a number of bounty hunters seek shelter during a blizzard, but get involved in a web of deception and betrayal along the way.

It stars renowned actors Kurt Russell, Samuel L Jackson, Tim Roth and Jennifer Jason Leigh among others.

The film is Tarantino's first since 2012's acclaimed Django Unchained and it is expected to be an instant classic similarly to his other works including Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and the Kill Bill franchise.
