Qld Expected To Ease COVID Restrictions This Week: 'Put Your Dancing Shoes On'

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced that if the state reports no new locally aqcuired COVID cases this week, it will revert to pre-Christmas restrictions, which includes the return of indoor gatherings, on Friday.

Palaszczuk confirmed the news at a press conference today, with Queensland now reporting no new locally acquired cases in eight days.

"We are on track to have those restrictions lifted," Palaszczuk said.

"We've only got two more days to go, so fingers crossed that all will be very good for Friday morning."

When asked if the eased restrictions would include the return of indoor dancing, Palaszczuk responded, "I think that's back.

"A lot of young people will be happy as well, so put your dancing shoes on.

Palaszczuk confirmed that the State Government will "put out a new road map just to confirm everything".
