Check out the first round of bands annouced for the Pyramid Rock Festival 2009
For the sixth year in a row, the mighty Pyramid Rock Festival returns to bring in the New Year on Phillip Island from Tuesday 29th December 2009 until Friday 1st January 2010. Tickets go on sale Thursday 3rd September.
Head lining the festival is Luke Steele's electro glam powerhouse Empire Of The Sun, the cool and crazy kids from The Cat Empire and the heart attack favourites Faker.
Leading the 'rock' side of things this year are The Butterfly Effect. The boys from Brisbane recently released the bold and defining new album Final Conversation Of Kings and it has been greeted with sold out shows across the country. Dead Letter Circus, hailing also from Brisvegas, have shared stages with the likes of Cog, Karnivool and Chevelle so these guys are no strangers to epic live shows!

Also wearing the ‘rock’ badge are Central Coast pop punkers Something With Numbers who returned in 2009 on the back of their new single ‘89 Freedom St’ from their second album Engineering The Soul. Also supporting the 'rock' share of the stage are MM9 who are no stranger to large rock, alternative and rave audiences.
