This week feel the big club energy radiating from mixes by CHANEL DEEJAY, LACES & more, as we span house, club, trap and world music across their selections

Welcome back to a weekly segment where we pluck our favourite mixes from all over the web and the world, bundle em together and call it PS Selected. Whether it was whipped up last week or last year, if it’s worth listening to it’s bound to be featured as we trek through the hours and hours of quality mixes uploaded across the net.

The five essential listens this week are courtesy of LACES, JON K, ISA, PEACH and CHANEL DEEJAY. Primo cuts of house, trap, club, breaks and techno are on the way, with every set an example of how to build, control and create ~ energy ~ in a live set.

Twisted trap producer Laces is set to release his debut EP on Sydney label Sidechains later this month, and to celebrate he brought the intensity to their FBi Radio show. Deconstructed jersey, sad boi rap and forward thinking club ease you into his maximal world, as the tempo slowly edges up to reach nightcore and footwork territory. Expect the unexpected, many a switch up, and every flavour of underground club imaginable, you're in for a wild ride.

On her recent mini-tour in China, Sydney selector Chanel Deejay popped by prolific streamers Hong Kong Community Radio for a mini-mix in front of their iconic green screen. What follows is an action packed twenty minutes of niche vogue tracks, huge techno and club classics. Dense kicks, sparse breakdowns and choppy sampling make for a mix that's gripping, imposing and over far too soon.

Making waves all the way from London, is high energy house selector and producer Peach. After one of the most fun loving Boiler Room parties in recent memory, she's been one to watch in my books and obviously the crew at Discwoman thought so too. In Peach's recent mix for the agency she stretches rave leaning house and broken beats into a commanding rhythm across a whole hour. "I don't think i've been ever very good at the chill thing" she said of her mix "and this is giving you a look into a few of the labels I've been into over the past few months".

Christening the half hour her "zoomy club mix", Sydney's busiest DJ Isa has just dropped the third instalment of her ISACLUB series that will have you absolutely buzzing. As a jack of all genres kinda DJ, this series sees her playing without a brief and spinning and sharing the tunes she loves the most. Hyper-colour sound design, snappy vocals and thudding kicks link flavours of jersey, rap, vogue and UK funky for a potent club cocktail. The end result is cohesive, energetic set that's bound to get any club heaving.

All the way from Croatia, Jon K's long haul mix live from Dekmantel Selectors 2018 is a masterclass in the art of building mood and energy. Curating three hours of a party is no easy feat, but the London DJ specialises in riding a simmering energy and guiding his audience on a loose and left of centre journey. Idiosyncratic selections of oddball house, world rhythms and breezy techno peak and plateau over the course of the mix, moving through dark soundscapes into optimistic breakdowns and back again.
