Promoter Hits Back At Fans Demanding Refunds From Sia's Aussie Shows

Fans were furious about the singer's lack of engagement at the shows.

Revered Australian promoter Michael Chugg has hit back at fans demanding refunds from Sia's recent Australian tour.

As The Age reports, many fans were frustrated due to the Adelaide-born singer's lack of engagement with the crowds at her stadium shows in Sydney and Melbourne last week and standing away from front of stage while dancer Maddy Ziegler performed in front of pre-recorded videos.

The Chugg Entertainment founder said Aussie fans should have been aware of the set-up of a live Sia concert.

"She's always covered her face to perform, at Coachella and the American concerts, that's how it is," the Chugg Entertainment founder said.

"That's part of her whole thing. I saw 26,000 kids going ape-shit, what can I say?

"She's never talked on stage, that's how she is. She has the dancers on stage with her, that's how it's always been."

Sia's latest Christmas-themed album, This Is Christmas, was released just month and peaked at #7 on the ARIA Albums chart.

She also picked up a 2018 Grammy nomination, her ninth, last week.
