Star to release a range of material through the deal

More Prince More Prince

Prince has signed a deal with the Kobalt Music Group that will see him self-release music on a global scale.

Notoriously un-traditional in his music releases, Prince will release not only his own music, but also material he has produced and records from new artists under the new deal. As part of the deal the iconic performer will employ Kobalt's distribution and marketing services. They have an in-house digital distribution platform and physical distribution deals around the world.

The deal could grant him a platform to launch his favoured acts on a global scale.

Richard Sanders, President of Kobalt, said, “This new venture gives Prince the flexibility and freedom he's always sought in a label partner. We're providing a high level of diverse services that will be particularly customized to his vision for each release, allowing the world to experience more music from Prince and his creative community.”
