Late last month, vocalist/guitarist Joel DuBay made note of Verbeuren's contributions but it appears now the Swedish musician's position is lasting.

Powermad posted their first newly released material in late June, with DuBay writing the following at the time:

"When people ask me what the "new" Powermad is going to sound like, I tell em' "It sounds like the Powermad you remember, only better, and with more chili (sic) sauce". With Dirk Verbeuren on Drums, we've finally attained the intensity we've been striving for in our new music. One word of caution though: don't forget your neck brace when listening to "Souls Descending" (ha! ha!)

Powermad returned from a lengthy hiatus in 2007 and are currently working on a new studio album, with hopes to release it by year's end. The pending full-length will be the first since 1989's 'Absolute Power'.
