Post Malone’s transition from rapper to country star (with a rock detour in-between) has been exhilarating to witness from the sidelines – and now he’s primed to hit another epic milestone in the genre, announcing his debut at the Grand Ole Opry.

Malone will perform at the iconic Nashville venue on Wednesday August 14, taking to the stage with fellow country stars Brad Paisley, Lainey Wilson, Vince Gill, The War And Treaty, and John Michael Montgomery. “What an honour,” he wrote in an Instagram post announcing the show today (August 1), telling fans he can’t wait to “see y’all in the circle”.

It comes after Paisley extended Malone a personal invite to the Opry. In a video shared yesterday (July 31), the former singer-songwriter said: “What I’m about to ask is going to mean a lot to you, I think, knowing you and knowing the respect that you have for country music, and this journey you’re embarking on now as a hillbilly singer – which is going to be massive and remarkable, and remarkable for both country music and, I think, you.

“Would you like to play the Opry? Come play it with me in August. Total invite, and it’s going to be the first of many appearances, I have a feeling, from you. Come experience what it’s like to play the show that started it all. You and I can jam together, and a lot of your friends will be there, and we’re going to have a blast.”

The news comes after Malone unveiled the tracklist for his forthcoming sixth album (and first country music album), F-1 Trillion, earlier today. After a list of the artists featured on the album was leaked, Malone took to social media to share the full itinerary for the disc – which is set to be released on August 16 – spanning 18 tracks with guest spots from the likes of Dolly Parton, Jelly Roll, ERNEST, Hank Williams Jr. and Chris Stapleton.

The album will also feature both Paisley and Lainey Wilson, both of whom he’ll be sharing the stage with at the Opry (making it likely that they’ll play those songs together). Thus far, F-1 Trillion has been previewed with three singles: I Had Some Help (featuring Morgan Wallen) came first in May, followed by Pour Me A Drink (with Blake Shelton) in June, and then Guy For That (with Luke Combs) last month.
