And they're re-releasing their 2016 EP, 'The Guilt & The Grief' on vinyl as well.
Sydney's Polaris will be re-releasing their 2016 EP, 'The Guilt & The Grief' on vinyl for the first ever time come March 3rd. Why you ask? Becuase the band and the EP have a brand new label home - Resist Records.
“It's my great pleasure to welcome Polaris to the Resist family. Polaris have been creating a buzz for some time now and we’re honoured to be working with the band" says Graham Nixon, owner of Resist Records. Polaris's Jake Steinhauser (bass/vocals) says “We’re absolutely stoked to be working with Resist. They’re one of the best independent labels in this country, they have an amazing history, and they definitely hold a special place for us as one of the first labels we used to dream of working with when we were young and starting a band. Between Resist and Cooking Vinyl we couldn’t ask for a better team behind us.”
Since the release of 'The Guilt & The Grief' EP back in January last year, many of have been waiting for the band to ink a deal with UNFD, and while that label may have seemed like the appropriate place for the band, given their sound and all. Yet who would you want to bring their own generic metalcore sound to a label that already has In Hearts Wake, Northlane and The Amity Affliction? Only a fool, that's who! With a signing to Resist Records, Polaris are now on a label that typically works with bands such as Vices (come on, baby, new album soon) and Miles Away and, of course, national international beaters Parkway Drive. So with a far more trendy metalcore approach than their new label peers hopefully this signing plays out as a good move for the band and the label.
You can catch Polaris this month on tour with Periphery and Circles. You can also pre-order 'The Guilt & The Grief (which originally debuted at #34 on the ARIA album charts and #2 on the AIR charts) 10" Vinyl HERE.
