Following the announcement earlier this week of the lineup set to hit Sidney Meyer Music bowl for Play On Melbourne, a new series of concerts have also been unveiled for regional Victoria set to take place next week.
Play On Victoria will take place across multiple outdoor stages throughout Ballarat, Warrnambool, Archies Creek, Avenel, Geelong, Halls Gap, Castlemaine and Bendigo, featuring an all-star lineup of local talent across two days.
The huge lineup of artists set to take part include Gareth Liddiard, Jess Riberio, Dan Kelly, Dallas Frasca, The Kite Machine, Kutcha Edwards, Allara and many, many more.
"Regional Victorians, who have been fully vaccinated are invited to experience live music in local venues on the last weekend of October," a statement from Play On Victoria reads.
"This massive outdoor series includes a laneway party outside Volta in Ballarat, and outdoor shows at Handle Bar in Bendigo, The Barwon Club in Geelong, Archies Creek Hotel, Halls Gap Hotel, Dart and Marlin in Warrnambool, Fowles Wine in Avenel, and The Bridge Hotel in Castlemaine."
Minister for Regional Development Mary-Anne Thomas said of the concert series announcement, “This all-regional line up is a celebration of our amazing talent across Victoria. These incredible artists will light up outdoor stages at some of our favourite regional venues and give us a taste of exciting times ahead.”
She continued, “I encourage music fans across Victoria to get involved and support the safe return of live music.”
“These outdoor gigs will showcase many of regional Victoria’s best musicians and beloved venues,– and will be a vital step in bringing live music back to our state and getting the industry back on its feet.” said Minister for Creative Industries Danny Pearson.
“We’re making sure we have the best technology in place to get our great local events up and going again and make them run as smoothly as possible."
