Midnight Oil frontman Peter Garrett is set to appear on Seven network's Sunday Night program this week in an exclusive chat to cover his days as one of Australia's most iconic singers, his run as an MP and the possibility of a band reunion.
In the lead up to the release of his memoir, the now seemingly media-shy Garrett partakes in the rare interview conducted by Melissa Doyle at Selina's; one of Sydney's most famous rock'n'roll bars which launched the careers of a number of Aussie outfits.
When asked about the possibility of a Midnight Oil reunion, who last performed at 2009 charity event Sound Relief in Melbourne, the 62-year-old artist replied, "That's a matter for Midnight Oil".
The Sydney-founded group have not released new music since 2002's Capricornia.
However when pressed further Garrett remained tight-lipped by saying, "It may happen, it may not. I really don't know."
The interview follows news this week that Garrett has requested comments he made regarding money he received from Clubs NSW upon entering politics be retracted from his forthcoming memoir.
The interview will air on Seven this Sunday at 7pm.
