The eagerly awaited follow-up to 2011's lauded 'Gimme Some' will be here in June

Swedish indie pop-rockers Peter Bjorn & John have announced the release of their seventh long-player, Breakin’ Point, for this June.

Released through the band’s own label INGRID, with the aid of Kobalt Label Services, the album will be their first since 2011’s much-acclaimed Gimme Some, which marked the first occasion the band worked with outside producers.

Like its predecessor, Breakin’ Point sees Peter Bjorn & John again utilise outside production with stellar collaborations from Paul Epworth (U2, Paul McCartney), Greg Kurstin (Adele), and Emile Haynie (FKA Twigs, Lana Del Rey).

“You behave better when you have people over for dinner that aren't just your family,” Bjorn Yttling said jokingly of working with the star production team.

“It wasn't that we just brought in anyone. We really respect what these guys do. We wanted to make pop music that was relevant now and not in a fantasy world of what we thought would be relevant.

“We learned how to not dwell on stuff because you can't sit forever. You have to reach a goal. That was a little bit scary at first.”

Filled with big, catchy pop tracks, Breakin’ Point is sure to please fans of the veteran trio. It's out on Friday, 10 June, via INGRID.
