Anyone in the States in September?
Escaping Australia to ride the never-ending wave of American music festivals, Canberra DJ duo Peking Duk and Melbourne garage rockers King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have both found themselves slated into two US music festivals this upcoming September.
Boasting impressive headliners like the prolific Stevie Wonder as well as Imagine Dragons, Weezer, Duran Duran, Death Cab For Cutie, RL Grime and more, Peking Duk will perform at Las Vegas' Life Is Beautiful Music and Art Festival which runs from Friday, 25 September to Sunday, 27 September. Joining the duo will be fellow Aussie What So Not, the electronic project of producer Emoh Instead.
The Melburnians in the King Giz camp will be joining another three-day festival in September — Hopscotch Music Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina, said to be "the premiere experimental and underground festival in America". Godspeed You! Black Emperor, TV On The Radio, Pusha T and Dwight Yoakam are the top-billed acts here, playing across Thursday, 10 September to Saturday, 12 September.
The news comes not long after the King Giz boys were added to LA's FYF Fest, which they'll play in August. Looks like the band have quite the festival season ahead of them over in the Northern Hemisphere.
