"The labels have swung into action to make it all happen in record time."

UPDATE: God Is A Freak is out now - listen below:

Aussie artist Peach PRC has a very passionate fanbase, so much so that her teasing a new demo via TikTok resulted in chaos behind the scenes at her label.

Last week, she shared a snippet of a new demo via the platform with the tagline “an anti worship song for my religious trauma girlies” and then only days later revealed the song, now known as God Is A Freak, was available to be pre-saved.

The pre-save announcement video was captioned with: “i leaked this song without telling my label [Republic Records/Island Records Australia] bc i thought they would say it was too controversial.”

Here are some of the lyrics featured in the pre-save clip:

“God is a bit of a freak / Why is he watching me getting railed on the couch, staying pure for a wedding / He’s got fucked up priorities.”

Earlier last week, Peach PRC went into the studio with producer Liam Quinn, who collaborated on her 2021 breakout single Josh, to work on an idea that she had been developing for some time.

“They loved what they came up with and Peach leaked the chorus hook of the demo to her 2m strong followers without label or management prior knowledge,” Peach PRC co-manager Paul Paoliello (Haiku Entertainment CEO) told The Music.

“She is an incredibly smart artist and the lyrics and her delivery on this track are a real testament to who she is and it really seems to have struck a chord with fans. It gathered pace at a rate we hadn't seen before and to their credit, Republic in the US and Island here in Australia understood the opportunity and we got a pre-save link up quickly. Within two days it is already becoming her most saved track to date.

“She has spent the last week in the studio finishing the track while the labels have swung into action to make it all happen in record time. We literally finished the mix and master less than 24 hours ago and it sounds amazing!

“We have just approved the cover art and we'll have the record in the ears of fans at some point in the next week. It's a real testament to how the industry can work these days to make an artist's artistic vision happen.

“Sure, a six-week lead time to set things up would be great, but in this case, sometimes you have to roll with it and we're lucky we have a team that can work at the same level as Peach PRC's artistic vision.”
