Sir Paul McCartney has recruited quite the crew for his forthcoming project.

More Paul McCartney More Paul McCartney

Sir Paul McCartney is back in the studio working on a new project that includes collaborations with Mark Ronson and Ethan Johns.

Speaking to NME, Johns revealed that the former Beatle is looking at making a “classic Paul” follow up to his fifteenth record, Kisses On The Bottom, released less than a year ago.

"This is very different to the last album," Johns explains. "We've done two sessions already and the third is in a few weeks. It's sounding great. He's still one of the most extraordinary recording talents. There's a song on the record called Hosanna which is absolutely heartbreaking – just Paul and an acoustic guitar. It's gorgeous."

The Kings Of Leon producer also added: "I know he's also been in the studio with Mark Ronson, which I imagine is going to be quite current-sounding."

It is uncertain whether McCartney will release a new album "or something else entirely” as noted by Johns.
