Paul Mac, Muppets Feature At First 2015 Dungog Festival Announcement

Annual regional arts and music event Dungog Festival has unveiled the first of its 2015 program today.

The program features multi ARIA-winner Paul Mac, with guest Ngaiire

The film line-up, screenings of 12 feature films at James Theatre, includes Jim Henson archive screenings such as Muppet History 101, a, you guessed it, history of the Muppets, and Muppet Music Moments, which features performances from Elton John, Paul Simon and Debbie Harry. The Australian film program includes Sucker, written by comedian Lawrence Leung and director Ben Chessell, and Wayne Hope's Now Add Honey. A selection of shortlisted short films from the Dungog Festival Short Film Competition will screen as part of the program; submissions close on 31 August.

The Long Table Dinner returns in 2015: a nighttime sitdown meal on the main street of Dungog.

Conductor and composer George Ellis will conduct workshops with Dungog School students, who will be encouraged to write a song about the town, to be perofrmed at the festival. 

Dungog Festival runs 22 - 25 October. 

The full program will be announced 10 September.
