'The Office' Reunion Rumours Continue, But Paul Feig Isn't Sure It's Such A Good Idea

Talks of a comeback for The Office continue to do the rounds but a director heavily involved with the iconic comedy series isn't sure a reunion would be a good idea. 

While NBC was previously rumoured to be reviving The Office, show stars Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey (who played Pam Beesly and Angela Martin) said in a recent interview with Buzzfeed that the cast has come up with a "really good idea" for a stand-alone film.

However Paul Feig, who served as an executive producer for The Office and directed some of the show's most memorable episodes including 'Office Olympics', 'Dinner Party', 'Niagra' and Steve Carell's final episode 'Goodbye Michael', said he hasn't been told of any concrete comeback plans. 

"I have no idea. I know they've been talking about it. I honestly don't know," Feig told The Music while in Sydney this week to promote his new film, Last Christmas.

"I mean, Steve's [Carell] moved on, so you could always do it with a new cast. I'm a fan of, like, once you get something right, step away and let it be its thing."

Carell has done his best to dash any hopes of Michael Scott appearing in any Office reunion, even going so far as to play up on the rumours during his opening monologue on Saturday Night Live late last year; check out the clip below.
