It'll be a strong week for local debuts this week
Metalcore titans Parkway Drive are looking like they could really cause a stir at the top of the ARIA Album chart this week, which has been dominated by pop stars since the release of Pink's The Truth About Love.
Even though Taylor Swift's Red took top spot off Pink this week, the seemingly endless stream of added shows to Pink's mammoth 2013 arena tour ensures that her album – already four times platinum – keeps ticking over. Another locals that will feature high in the charts this week are Delta Goodrem with Child Of The Universe, Kylie Minogue with The Abbey Road Sessions and Sarah Blasko with I Awake. All are tracking extremely well based on the midweek charts – and it will be a strong week for local debuts – but Byron Bay's Parkway Drive might just have the edge.
The ARIA Singles Chart will once again be fought out by Psy's Gangnam Style, Swedish house Mafia's Don't You Worry Child and Calvin Harris/Florence Welch's Sweet Nothing. The midweek figures point out two bullet performers though in the form of Bruno Mars' Locked Out Of Heaven and Alicia Keys' Girl On Fire.
