Adelaide's Paper Arms, in a statement released this afternoon, have called it quits.

The locals made the announcement online, completing an eight-year career. To accompany the news, the band has announced their final two shows, which will take place in Melbourne and Adelaide respectively.

Paper Arms write:

"The time has come for Paper Arms to call it a day. This band has done so much more than we ever thought it would. 3 full lengths, 3 European tours, so many trips around Australia, tours with so many of our favourite bands... and we stayed friends through it all. There's no bad blood. We're just at a point in our lives where we're ready for something new.

We're proud of what we've achieved since we started in 2008. We're proud of the music we made together. And we're so, so grateful for everyone that supported us over the years. As a final thank you and farewell we have a final East Coast show in Melbourne on January 30 with our friends Totally Unicorn, The Sinking Teeth and Laura Palmer, and a FINAL, final show on February 26 on home soil in Adelaide. It would mean the world to us to have you there!

All the love! – Paper Arms."
