Panic At The Disco recently spoke to MTV.com about their new album. The band have been writing new material for the follow up to 2006's 'Pretty. Odd'. Frontman Brendon Urie has stated their is still no solid date set for the recording to start, but they expect writing to be finished within a couple months.
Panic At The Disco recently spoke to MTV.com about their new album. The band have been writing new material for the follow up to 2006's 'Pretty. Odd'. Frontman Brendon Urie has stated their is still no solid date set for the recording to start, but they expect writing to be finished within a couple months.
Urie said, "We've been doing home demos for the past six months — just kind of writing — and we're pretty close," Urie explained. "Still some work to be done, though ... hoping to finish that up over the next couple months."

He also went on to talk about what the new songs might sound like, "Our last two records kind of sounded different. This one is ... I don't even know how to describe it. We've always been a pop band. We've always been fans of pop music, whether it's the Beatles — which is, like, the beginning of pop music — we've always been fans of good catchy melodies and lighthearted music."
"We moved to California since the last record, so that's inspiration," Smith added. "We started surfing, too, so maybe we'll get a little Beach Boys vibe on this one."
