Ozzy Osbourne Dubs T-Pain's Cover Of 'War Pigs' The 'Best Ever'

Ozzy Osbourne has finally witnessed T-Pain’s impressive cover of the 1970 Black Sabbath classic, War Pigs, calling it the “best ever”.

The Paranoid singer stumbled upon a December performance of T-Pain covering War Pigs, sharing the footage and writing on his X (formerly Twitter) account yesterday, “This is the best cover of War Pigs ever. Why didn’t you guys call me?”

In response to Osbourne’s praise, T-Pain commented, “You’re always invited. Top of the list, every time!! Thank you so much. Means a lot coming from the greatness himself”.

Osbourne isn’t the only Black Sabbath member to have enjoyed what T-Pain did with their song – Geezer Butler previously called it “great”.

T-Pain first covered War Pigs for his cover album, On Top Of The Covers, which was released last March. The cover showcases T-Pain’s voice without autotune, and he rocks: he’s soulful and raspy in all the right ways and pays respect to the original by keeping true to War Pigs’ arrangement. Here’s what T-Pain said about On Top Of The Covers before its release last year: “This covers album has been years in the making. I started recording this right after I won The Masked Singer. It got put on hold for a bit, but now that I’m independent, I’m able to do whatever I want to do through Nappy Boy Entertainment, and this is something I’ve felt strongly about for a long time.

“These songs are not what you’d expect when you hear that T-Pain is doing a covers album, and that is what I think is cool about it.”

On Top Of The Covers also saw T-Pain cover Sam Cooke (A Change Is Gonna Come), Journey (Don’t Stop Believin’), Sam Smith (Stay With Me) and more.

Last February, Osbourne announced his retirement from touring in an emotional statement.

“This is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to share with my loyal fans,” Osbourne wrote.

“As you may all know, four years ago, this month, I had a major accident, where I damaged my spine. My one and only purpose during this time has been to get back on stage. My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak.”
