Australian music legends are set to join forces to tackle the country’s food waste crisis, performing for OzHarvest on a television special next week.

OzHarvest’s concert, Unite To Feed Australia Live, will air at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, 3 December, on Channel 7 and 7plus.

The concert aims to fight food insecurity and provide meals for Australians in need. It also celebrates OzHarvest’s 20th anniversary. While it shines a light on the country’s food waste crisis, crucial funds will be raised as Better Homes And Gardens Johanna Griggs and comedian Jimmy Rees host the event.

In terms of live music, you can expect performances by longtime favourites such as Daryl Braithwaite, Human Nature, and Danielle Spencer, country star Fanny Lumsden, and contemporary artists Emmanuel Kelly, Conrad Sewell, Courtney Act, Felix Riebl of The Cat Empire fame, Lior, William Barton, Tierney Brothers, William Crighton, and Jess Hitchcock.

The night will also feature performances by Air Land Sea, the Sydney Street Choir, and this year’s Australian Idol winner Dylan Wright. A special guest is also listed to appear at the event: Bob Geldof will share his insight about the power of music 40 years on from Live Aid, and OzHarvest founder Ronni Kahn AO will discuss the challenges many Australians face with food insecurity.

In a statement, Kahn said the forthcoming event will be “more than a concert.”
