'Ah Shit, Here We Go Again': Overheard At BIGSOUND Night Three

6 September 2019 | 3:52 pm | Staff Writer

Hello BIGSOUND, we're listening...

What we heard...

"Ah shit, here we go again." - Remember, proper preparation prevents piss poor partying.

"Fuck, how much more business do you have to do?!" - But all the best deals happen at 1am.

Miiesha certainly was electric. In fact, she's had quite an impactful week. Is that a record deal we can hear rumbling in the background?

"Could everyone move forward so we can fit more industry people in?" - EGOISM may have meant it tongue-in-cheek but sure enough everyone moved forward and an endless stream of industry folk flowed in until Heya Bar was rammed.

“She never lets me go see metal!” - Potentially the most wholesome moment at the festival seeing a 50-year-old man in cargo shorts and ASICS thrashing in the DREGG mosh with a huge grin on his face while his wife looked on fearfully.

"If you have the answer, you're wrong." - Speaking of DREGG, frontman Christopher Mackertich imparted some serious life lessons.

"Just letting everyone know I'm running away to join Cry Club." - Can we come too?

"I’m pretty sure BIGSOUND only exists so all the industry people have a reason to see each other in real life rather than just Twitter and passive aggressive emails." - Twitter has been on fire this week.

"The live music scene in Brisbane is just getting stronger and stronger." - You're not wrong, lady.

“We should have done this on the first night and the last night; all nights, every opportunity.” - Electric Fields were a fucking revelation.

"We're going to party tonight. Just informing you." - The Music x Secret Sounds' official after party WENT OFF. Shout out to The Fortitude Music Hall for pulling off an epic night.

Wolfjay continues to impress - an intriguing amount of publisher types spotted at their final showcase.

One heavily bearded delegate was denied entry at WAAX's surprise set for lack of ID. Sorry pal, this isn't Melbourne.

WAAX's Maz DeVita also jumped up on stage with Cry Club for a cover of mclusky's To Hell With Good Intentions.

There are plenty of hungover folk roaming Brunswick Street Mall today looking like stunned mullets.
