Major Industry Player Launches New South-west Sydney Festival

Johann Ponniah of I OH YOU has today launched a new festival in Sydney's south-west called Out Of Bounds.

Going down on 18 January 2020 in Campelltown, Ponniah says he's stoked to bring some of "Australia’s finest talents to the 2560". 

Illy, The Rubens, WAAX and more lead the inaugural line-up which will be an all-ages event at the Campbelltown Athletics Centre.

"Being born and raised in Campbelltown ‘til I finished high school, I know what an amazing place it is to grow up," Ponniah said. 

"I’m intensely proud of my hometown area and grateful for everything the community gave me. In saying that, I also know how distant and separated it can feel from the inner city areas that are often spoilt for choice and cultural opportunities. 

"The Out Of Bounds festival is aimed at beginning to bridge that gap and hopefully allowing all the brilliant young people in the region a chance to see some of Australia’s best musical talents."

I OH YOU has also revealed it will be offering someone from the local area a paid internship and the label will be working with the local council "to bring musicians and industry professionals to the region to hold forums, panels and Q&As in the hope of creating more connections between young people in south-west Sydney and the music industry".
