There are few things more satisfying than randomly (not-so-randomly) guessing who will be at Harvest Festival 2013.
The line-up for HARVEST FESTIVAL 2013 is expected on June 27, so in preparation the team at PURPLE SNEAKERS have collated all the rumours and gossip (and added a few of our own picks) for your listening pleasure.
If you're as psyched as we are you've probably been hypothesising and daydreaming for months. I mean, what if Atoms for Peace or Deerhunter were taking the main stage at Parramatta Park? Sure, those rumours have been quashed, but a girl can dream, right? (Twitter confirmed Yorke and co are not coming, and I really wanted the latter; turns out they're going to be playing a show in the US during Harvest, and are finishing their European tour in early November. I'm about to cry from disappointment.)

Anyway, we've been reading into promoter AJ Maddah's tweets and everything else we can get our grimy fingers on, and we've come up with these predictions. We also decided that we’re not going to assume everyone he’d love to have is thus a potential pick. We’re looking at tour dates and availabilities here, people.
KURT VILE
Is touring across the Americas until the end of October. Then in December he heads off to Europe. This leaves a pretty good window for an Australian tour and some festival shows to promote Walkin' On a Pretty Daze, right?
POND
Their latest album Hobo Rocket is out in August. They're Australian festival regulars. Plus every festival loves to showcase homegrown talent, especially before they've taken off. (For the purposes of this article they haven't taken off; after all their gigs are still cheap. They're not Tame Impala yet.)
JACK WHITE
The basis for this? Wishful thinking mostly. And because musicians (crowd favourites at Splendour) love Australia and often come back twice in two years. After all, Maddah told someone on Twitter he'd consider inviting him. That's makes it a possibility. Plus White has little else to do this year, why not just spontaneously turn up to an Australian indie music festival? Genius idea.
BON IVER
Because the Internet want him bad. And he was last here last year. That’s ages ago in Australia festival terms. And he's got nothing coming up, right? Okay. Good guess, world. (For some reason Justin Vernon's group are 'likely' in other rumour lists, and the basis seems to be a vague and uninsightful tweet.)
NEUTRAL MILK HOTEL
Are a definite. They were confirmed by Maddah after the band let slip they were coming to Australia in November. We know this is their reunion tour, after a 13 year hiatus, and no one really expected Mangum and co to come back after all those years and two perfect albums. As a result, we know that tickets WILL be snapped up quick smart.
SHE AND HIM
‘We nearly had them’ for 2012, and Deschanel and Ward are probably keen to promote their latest endeavour, Volume 3. They finish their US tour next month which frees up some time to head south and give folk fans exactly what they want.
FRANZ FERDINAND
Let slip they were heading to Australia in November, having finished their newest album. They dropped the ball on that one. After doing the rounds of the major music festival this year, we're hoping Australia finally gets to hear some of those new tracks in person. Plus they haven’t come for a visit since 2009. It’s time, lads.

Oh and it'd be pretty entertaining if Maddah announced that Biebz was stopping at the festival. We'd finally find out whether or not he has fans over 18, and then hopefully change their lives with indie rock. And I'll just go to sideshows if Coldplay is there. Not opposed to Fleetwood Mac but.
