And the Oscar goes to...
New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi has won his first ever Oscar at the Academy Awards in LA today.
Waititi took out the Best Adapted Screenplay category for Jojo Rabbit, following his 2005 nomination for short film, Two Cars, One Night.
"I dedicate this to all the Indigenous kids in the world who want to do art and dance and write stories," he said.
"We are the original storytellers and we can make it here, as well."

Meanwhile, music legend Elton John won Best Original Song for (I'm Gonna) Love Me Again from his biopic, Rocketman.
The audience at LA's Dolby Theater were also treated to a surprise performance by Eminem, who took to the stage to perform Lose Yourself, which won the Best Original Song Oscar in 2002, while Billie Eilish and her brother FINNEAS performed The Beatles' Yesterday for the In Memoriam segment.

While there were few non-surprises on the night, including Joaquin Phoenix's Best Actor win for Joker and Renée Zellweger's Best Actress win for Judy, South Korean film Parasite was the big winner, taking out Best Picture and Best International Feature Film, as well as Bong Joon-ho winning Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.
Australia's Margot Robbie missed out on Best Supporting Actress, which was won by Laura Dern for her performance in Marriage Story.
