Opeth are in the very early stages of preparing new material according to vocalist Mikael Åkerfeldt.
While writing is still very much in its infancy, with little progress made yet, Akerfeldt told PitCam.TV as reported by Gunshyassassin.com that he was currently writing.
“I’ve been writing a little. I’m going on a trip soon — next week — on my own, actually, which I’ve never done before. I’m gonna bring the guitar and write some stuff, hopefully,” the musician said.
“I’m gonna start writing more for real once we finish the tour,” he added.
Opeth’s most recent studio album was 2011’s ‘Heritage’.
