One Dead, Another In Critical Condition After Stereosonic

69 charged with drug offences

A 25 year-old woman was rushed to hospital from yesterday's Stereosonic festival in Sydney and later died.

The ABC reports that the exact circumstances of her death are still unknown. But another 22 year-old woman was also taken to hospital and is now in an induced coma.

Promoters released a statement sending their "deepest condolences to the friends and family of the patron who tragically passed away.

"We appeal to our audience that they stay safe and look out for each other."

Yesterday's festival was the first Stereosonic of the season and also saw 69 people charged with the supply and possession of drugs.

There were also 23 people issued with cannabis cautions.

It was estimated that 50,000 electronic music fans were in attendance at the event.

Earlier this week two men were arrested for allegedly attempting to conceal drugs at the Stereosonic site ahead of yesterday.
