The UK artist had to pull out of the event at the last minute for personal reasons

Beloved hip hop supergroup One Day and acclaimed electronic duo Slumberjack have stepped up to replace the exeunt Stormzy aboard the Listen Out festival line-up following the UK artist's withdrawal from the event this morning.

One Day will perform at the event's first 2016 show in Melbourne tomorrow, as well as at the Sydney and Brisbane events, while Slumberjack will hit the bill in Perth.

Stormzy's Listen Out cancellation came as part of a swathe of gig postponements — which includes the remainder of his live shows and festival appearances for the rest of the year — made by the internationally lauded artist in a social media statement today.

Explaining the circumstances "with the heaviest of hearts" and offering his "deepest apologies", Stormzy said the postponements were "due to reasons out of my control".

"You lot know how much I love and enjoy performing so I hope you can envision and understand how substantial the reasons are in order for me to make such a decision."

He advised he "hope[s]" to reschedule the shows soon where practicable; whether that includes his Australian dates, which also included a headline gig in Adelaide along with his four planned appearances for Listen Out, remains to be seen.
