Olivia Newton-John's niece, Tottie Goldsmith, has dismissed a report which claims the singer has only weeks to live amidst her battle with cancer.

The report claims that the 70-year-old artist, who revealed she had been diagnosed with cancer for a third time last year, has been struggling and that her body is "shutting down".

However, Goldsmith has hit back at the report telling Channel 7, "You can rest assured [Newton-John] is going nowhere and in really good health. A sick rumour."

She also took to Instagram to address the report, writing, "Just giving you the heads up that Livvy is in good health, so let’s leave that distressing rumor where it belongs".

Newton-John's American rep, Michael Caprio, called the rumours "hilarious", telling news.com.au, "You might want to get better sources versus reading tabloids".

Most recently, the English-born-Australian-raised songwriter participated in a series of 'In Conversation' shows throughout the country last September in support of her autobiography, Don't Stop Believin'.

Her 2016-released Christmas album with fellow Aussie legend John Farnham, Friends For Christmas, returned to the top ten of the ARIA Albums chart durig the holiday period a few weeks ago.
