Oasis Honour Ozzy Osbourne At Wembley Stadium Gig

Oasis paid a poignant, classy tribute to Ozzy Osbourne at Wembley Stadium on Friday (25 July).

Legends live forever, right? That’s what the reunited group argued last night when, towards the end of their classic song Live Forever, they projected an image of a young Ozzy Osbourne on the screens. The performance marked the first time Oasis had performed Live Forever in London in 16 years.

Liam Gallagher then dedicated the next song, Rock & Roll Star, to the Black Sabbath icon. “I want to dedicate this next song to Ozzy Osbourne – Rock & Roll Star,” he said as the opening chords of the rager rang out.

Ozzy Osbourne died on 22 July 2025 – just seventeen days after taking to the stage for the final time at Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning farewell concert in the band’s home of Birmingham. His death was confirmed by his family, who wrote in a statement:

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family's privacy at this time.”

No cause of death was provided, though Osbourne’s health battles in recent years, including with Parkinson’s Disease, were well-documented. He died aged 76.

His passing continues to cause shockwaves in the music industry, with artists and bands including Metallica, Yungblud, Evanescence, Judas Priest, Fall Out Boy, Halestorm, Elton John, and many others paying tribute to the Prince of Darkness.

Oasis’s Live ’25 tour continues throughout the rest of the year, landing in Australia this October and November. The Britpop band will be joined by special guests Ball Park Music at the shows Down Under.

The tour marks the band’s first shows in Australia in nearly two decades and will include five massive stadium shows in Melbourne and Sydney.
