The iconic alt-rockers touch down this November
US heart-on-sleeve-rock heroes Jimmy Eat World have announced their return Down Under, with a string of shows lined up to set Australia and New Zealand a’bounce this November with a celebratory tribute to the 10th anniversary of their beloved LP Futures.
It’s a swift return for the pop-rock hit-makers, having already graced antipodean stages on a run of festival dates earlier in the year, and will find them well warmed up off the back of an epic American tour they’re undertaking to get the celebrations started.
The Futures 10 Year Anniversary Tour touches down in Auckland on Saturday, November 8, at the Powerstation, taking in Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Melbourne and Brisbane before rolling into Sydney for the final show at the Enmore Theatre on Saturday, November 22.
Futures caused quite the local stir upon its release in 2004, peaking just inside the top thirty on the ARIA Albums Chart (#27) and charting highly at home in the US, where it hit #6 on the Billboard Top 200 ladder. It spawned three singles, the first of which, Pain, was kind of ubiquitous for a while there, going Gold and hitting #1 in the US, and ending up in a raft of video games (including one of the Guitar Hero and Rock Band titles, back when that was a thing).

Yes, they will probably still play The Middle, even though it is not on Futures. Breathe and focus.
Jimmy Eat World will be joined by special guests The Sinking Teeth for their shows in New Zealand, Tasmania and Queensland, with My Echo stepping in to handle Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.
Tickets for the Jimmy Eat World Futures 10 Year Anniversary Tour will be made available first to Frontier Members, with a pre-sale running for 24 hours (or until allocation exhaustion) from 2pm AEST/NZST on Tuesday, August 19.
General-release tickets will be up for grabs from 10am local Australian time/12pm NZST on Friday, August 22. See the Gig Guide or The Music App for a full list of date, venue and ticketing information.
