A lot happening in the state today

There's been a couple of important developments in the future of NSW live music today.

First up, Wollongong venue Yours & Owls has been revealed to be moving locations. The boutique live music hub has been put on the market and the owner is likely to transfer the name to a new city.

Owner Ben Tillman had this to say to local blog Bear Media, “The sale doesn't include the name, we'll be taking that with us… Wherever that may be. We don't have to start again, as it's already begun. I guess it's a question of whether to keep on going?”

Back in Sydney and the ongoing Annandale Hotel saga continued to move in a positive direction, with former owners Dan and Matt Rule assuring locals that the new owners Oscars Hotels group have confirmed that live music will remain a part of the hotel's future moving forward.

In a statement released, they said, “After a recent meeting with the new owners of The Annandale, The Oscars Group, we are very happy to announce that they wish to keep live music in place!" the statement reads. "Oscars are very eager to continue with the same music strategy and are looking forward to the shows that are booked from when they take over in August.”

The pair also confirmed that all shows booked up until Wednesday 31 July, when the handover is made official, will go ahead as scheduled.
